A contemporary home design in Hertfordshire uses a large elevation of aluminium bi fold doors to the rear of a traditional home in Mill End.
Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire is an idyllic location 20 miles from central London. The up and coming town is displaying an increase in house prices, on average property prices have doubled in the last five years. Therefore home owners are more willing to renovate and update their homes, as it could be cheaper than moving to a home with the desired home layout being changed to suit their needs and lifestyles.
IQ were recently involved with a contemporary renovation project, Berry Way in Rickmansworth. The modern renovation design in Hertfordshire uses large elevations of aluminium bi fold doors meeting on a corner for an eye-catching, contemporary design finish, flooding the kitchen and dining area with natural light. When the bi fold doors are parted away from the meeting structural post, it leaves a large open aperture for the indoor outdoor living experience.
The aluminium bi folding doors are positioned on the corner of the property, creating a modern patio door installation with slim framed aluminium framing maximising the amount of glass, therefore increasing the daylight internally.
The thin framed bi-fold doors provide a minimal aesthetic, especially with the white rendered exterior. Berry Way features a flush threshold as the base track to the bi folding doors seamlessly linking the internal areas with the garden. Originally, where the aluminium bi fold doors have been positioned, was series of windows wrapping around the corner of the house, with a large amount of framing as opposed to glass. However, by using slim frame doors the room will benefit from double the amount of natural light and the ability to open the internal space to the garden.
The contemporary renovation in Hertfordshire ensures a cohesive finish throughout using a white powder coat to the aluminium framing blending in with the other window frames. The home fits in perfectly with the surrounding homes, the bespoke slim frame bi fold doors form an amazing feature to the rear of the home really opening it up.
All the glazing to this project was designed and installed by IQ Glass, based in Amersham.
